At Embassy Suites DFW Airport North, a guest’s decision to order may happen long before they reach a restaurant or bar. Lunch between meetings, dinner after returning to the hotel, or drinks later in the evening all start with the same question: how easy is it for the guest to see what is available and place an order?

At this hotel, OrderAssist is used as a guestroom ordering channel. Instead of relying on a phone call or a printed menu, guests can browse available food and beverage and place orders from their phones while in the room. The live ordering page gives guests access to available food and beverage options directly from the guestroom, keeping the ordering experience centered on in-room dining.

Make ordering easier when guests are ready to buy

The hotel’s live OrderAssist experience gives guests access to a broad food-and-beverage menu from the guestroom, including salads and soups, handhelds, mains, sides, sweets, non-alcoholic beverages, bottled beer and beverages, and wine.

Guests can scan a QR code, open the menu, choose their items, add delivery or guestroom order details, and pay from their phones. Orders then move into the hotel’s F&B workflow for preparation and fulfillment. The result is a shorter path from guest interest to an actual order—especially in the guestroom, where convenience can directly affect whether the guest buys at all.

Revenue grew after launch—and continued into the next year

OrderAssist officially launched at the hotel in May 2024, following testing in April. Ashley, the hotel’s F&B Manager, reported that May revenue increased 275% compared with April. Across 2024, OrderAssist generated $60,002 in revenue. In 2025, revenue reached $84,048—about 40% higher than 2024.

“In our first year, after launching in May, our May revenue alone was up 275% compared with April. Our revenue continued to grow, and both our guests and hotel colleagues love how easy it is to use.”

The numbers show more than a launch-month spike. OrderAssist became an ongoing F&B ordering channel—making it easier for guests to buy while giving the hotel a measurable source of service revenue that continued into the following year.

See what guests order—and when they order it

OrderAssist also gives the F&B team a clearer view of real purchasing behavior. Monthly reporting can show order volume by meal period, daily and weekly ordering patterns, and the specific items guests purchase most often.

In May 2025, the hotel recorded 178 OrderAssist orders. Dinner accounted for 166 orders, or 93%, while another 12 orders came from the lunch menu. Hallford’s Burger led the item list with 37 orders, followed by Chocolate Layer Mousse Cake, Coke, French Fries, and NY Cheesecake among the most frequently ordered choices.

That information gives F&B leaders a practical basis for decisions: which meal periods deserve more attention, which items should stay prominent on the menu, what may need to be prepared in greater volume, and where staffing or service coverage may need to shift around actual demand.

Use ordering patterns to improve the next sale

Item-level order data can also show which products are frequently purchased together. That gives the hotel a way to identify natural combinations—such as a main item that is often ordered with a side, beverage, or dessert—and use those patterns to shape bundles, pairings, and upsell opportunities.

OrderAssist does not need to turn every purchase into an automated recommendation to create value from this insight. The F&B team can use real guest behavior to decide which combinations are worth featuring, which add-ons make sense, and how the digital menu can encourage a higher-value order without adding friction for the guest.

Turn ordering data into better F&B decisions

For a GM or F&B leader, the larger value is a connected cycle: make it easier for guests to order, capture the revenue, learn from what they buy, and use those insights to improve the menu and operation.

That moves OrderAssist beyond a digital ordering channel. It becomes a practical source of guest-demand data that can help the hotel refine menu choices, prepare for high-demand periods, identify combination opportunities, and continue improving how food and beverage is sold throughout the stay.
